Rollerball Pens
A relatively modern invention, rollerball pens were developed in the early 1980’s in an effort to improve the ballpoint design. The chief success of the rollerball is in its use of water-based ink rather than the thicker oil-based ink found in ballpoints. Some advantages of water-based ink are that it tends to saturate the paper more quickly than oil-based ink and the colors are brighter in appearance.
With better ink flow than a ballpoint, the rollerball requires less hand pressure to write, while maintaining the same convenience of a ballpoint and the smooth ‘wet ink’ look of a fountain pen. We supply premium ink refills in every rollerball we sell in your choice of four available colors: black, blue, red, and green.
We offer a wide variety of fine writing instruments handcrafted from rare and exotic wood from around the world, plus eye-catching domestic woods too.
